Black Thorn Rose is the ultimate rock tribute band, bringing an authentic rock and roll experience from artists such as AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Ratt, Billy Idol, Billy Squier, Def Leppard, KISS, Sammy Hagar, Joan Jett, Golden Earring, Judas Priest, The Cult, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, Blondie, Stone Temple Pilots, Collective Soul, Metallica, Bush and many more.
ROXANNE
Roxanne began studying piano at age 5 and began her musical career as a keyboard player and background vocalist for the popular Tampa based Kenny McGee Band, performing both originals and covers. In 2009 she became a lead singer and keyboardist in the Sarasota based Roxband. She and other talented musicians formed Black Thorn Rose in 2012. She has performed on stage with icons such as Nancy Wilson of Heart and Lita Ford.

Mike was born in Watertown NY and started playing guitar as a teen. After moving to Sarasota in 1980, he decided he loved playing bass and made that his primary instrument. He has played in many original and cover bands including Deceiver, Brat, Avenging Benji, 7 Years Past, Absolutely Nothing, Downbringer, Difficult, Cold Static, Parish, Tortured, Havoc, Sundogs and more.
Mike and Roxanne cofounded Black Thorn Rose in 2012 and have been rockin’ ever since!

Mike Opeka is our shredding lead guitarist. He is originally from Lansing, Michigan. He has played in a number of local bands, including Boss Hawg, Gas House Gorillas, Rebel Heart and Splynter. His main influences are Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Reb Beach, and Vito Bratta.

Drums
Dustin rocks the drums! He has played with us for several years and is currently filling in with us. He is also in the band Mojo Filter, a Sarasota favorite!
